For our Client, a multinational medical devices company, we are currently looking for a

National Sales Manager to lead our Hospital Business Unit Sales activity in Italy

The incumbent is accountable for the achievement of national sales and profit targets, management and direction of the team, and successful operation of the company's Hospital Business unit in Italy. The incumbent has line responsibility for the sales function in the territory, managing a sales team, leading market segmentation and prioritization, making recommendations on sales quotas, assigning territories and accounts to team members in order to achieve agreed sales targets within an allocated budget and maintain competitive advantage. The incumbent develops and ensures the implementation of focused sales strategies in country and is responsible for ensuring proper competitive intelligence positioning of our products, enhancement of selling methodologies, monitoring of sales budgets and pricing strategies.

His/her responsibilities will be in developing and delivering a national business plan for the Hospital Business unit to drive focused market penetration, superior sales growth, profit growth and market share gains in line with Hospital Business product portfolio and organizational goals achieving business targets and goals through effective management of team, ensuring a clear vision, direction and objectives for the team managing all resources effectively to drive maximum return on investment for the country co-ordinating and aligning with cross-functional team members to ensure effective planning and implementation of Italy's Hospital Business unit strategy improving field force effectiveness through sales performance data analysis, identification of improvement paths and superior execution defining commercial opportunities' priority plan to ensure that field force is utilized in areas that will support a high growth strategy building strong relationships with customers and external stakeholders to strengthen Hospital Business product portfolio brand awareness, competitive position and performance Team and people management, from talent identification and recruitment, through team motivation and capability development, personal development planning and training, to appropriate performance management active involvement in national, regional projects, contributing to strategic discussions to drive future success for the business.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years' experience of successful sales in hospital medical device industry with proven success in all aspects of the sales process and 5 years' of recognized experience in sales leadership managing sales teams fully demonstrated ability to manage a country sales business and execute strategic and tactical sales plans proven track record of achievement in sales management English and Italian are required any additional language is a plus ability to develop exceptional working/commercial relationships strong Health care economics knowledge, as well as deep understanding of Italy's hospital environment, key trends, risks and opportunities and key stakeholder hands-on management of high level projects involving cross-functional teams and work streams demonstrated skills and abilities leading and guiding a team of high performing professionals in achieving business goals
