Manufacturing Manager

The mission of the Manufacturing Manager is to ensure the production of the pharmaceutical specialties according to the relevant production schedule and that the products are manufactured and stored according to the appropriate documentation in order to obtain the required quality. All the operations must be carried out giving priority to personnel safety and health and environmental protection.
To ensure the compliance to the environment, health and safety regulations provided by the UNI EN ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and ensure the fulfillment of legal obligations under Legislative Decree 81/2008

Dimensions of the role:

Financial aspects (responsibility for budgets, contracts etc with approximate figures)
Number of staff direct and indirect reporting to the job holder Direct subordinates: 5
Function total headcount: 250

Department/Division responsibility and regional if applicable: Departments under responsibility: Semi-finished Freeze dried, Semi-finished Solutions, Secondary Packaging

Operational Excellence
Provide leadership to the manufacturing organization to fully achieve each of the key performance indicators.
Mastering (and promoting) use of Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing tools to assure the site provides a competitive advantage to the business.
Ensure robust processes and minimize waste.

People
Promote and achieve an environment of high colleague engagement, decision-making, and support/development according to the Corporate Core Beliefs.
Prepare and implement training plans for all colleagues in the department
Develop colleagues according to their individual development plans and company needs.

Finance
Prepare department budgets, track and meet financial commitments for expense, material usage and production volume.

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering or other relevant technical related field.
Minimum of 5 years leading a manufacturing operation with demonstrated ability to develop long range/operational plans, effectively resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner, prepare and achieve budgets and financial forecasts. Successful experience and application of Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing tools.
Prior experience managing in a biological/chemical and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, with increasing levels of leadership responsibility
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills in Italian and English.
Demonstrated creativity and proven capability to effectively lead and develop others, optimize team and organizational performance, execute strategic and operational plans, lead and manage change, analyze complex issues resulting in appropriate & timely decisions, and promote innovation.
Strong commitment to Safety, Product Quality, Customer Satisfaction and Operational Excellence & Lean Manufacturing.
Demonstrated successful coaching and development of colleagues, and effective performance management.
Demonstrated ability to interact positively with senior management and related groups (i.e. Global Technical Services, Supply Chain Management, Research and Development, Human Resources, Quality Operations, etc.).
Demonstrated successful interactions with domestic and international Regulatory agencies
Willingness to travel according the business needs
