Scope of the Position:

To ensure that port facilities, layout, equipment and machinery run to their maximum efficiency and output by planning, managing and controlling both reactive and proactive maintenance service, operational KPI s, maintenance procedures and strategies aligned to approved annual budget to comply with organization`s objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on management of the repair and maintenance of container cranes (STS, RMG) and mobile equipment (MHC, RS, TT, etc.) as well as handling equipment, facilities, infrastructure and utilities overall.
- Responsible for the daily management of staff and resources to meet terminal targets in respect of equipment availability, reliability and maintenance costs.
- Ensure that all engineering and maintenance work is performed to the highest standard to meet operational requirements and KPIs in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, control the spare parts and develop supplier chain and lead the team to deliver effectively work.
- Responsible for training and developing the staff as well as the subcontractors in order to meet the quality and the HSE standards.
- Be innovative and apply innovation when feasible to have cost-effective results.
- Contribute to the creation, implementation and control of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to improve operational performance.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities.
- Prepare and ensure the fulfillment of annual maintenance budget.
- Conduct safety and risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
- Set department objectives/KPIs, review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Manage, coach and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels for operational success.
- Participate together with Management Team Member in the elaboration, implementation and periodic control of Company`s Strategic Planning.
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and procedures to optimize quality and results, in line with Company and Customer requirements.
- Recommend solutions to General Manager without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost and efficiency.
- Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff and proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
- Liaise with at the Holding Head office to ensure that Global M&R policies are deployed and followed.

Requirements:
- Bachelor`s Degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 (seven) years` progressively responsible experience in light/heavy equipment repair and maintenance or facilities/equipment project management.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and automation systems
- Experience supervising a work unit, division or team is required.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce is preferred.
- Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation, and assistance to meet objectives.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Work on multiple projects at once, sometimes under pressure and tight deadlines
- Fluent in Italian and English
