Head of Medical Affairs ITALY

Requisiti

The successful applicant will act as interface on medical and scientific matters and will build strong relationships with external experts and industry and government bodies. as well as represent the Company in medical conferences, seminars and participate in Scientific and Medical symposia. local Advisory boards for nominated brands. He/she is a key member of the new product introduction team.

Responsibilities

Engage and build strong links with key external medical experts in the designated therapeutic field(s) with the following objectives:

Develop and maintain an in•depth understanding and knowledge of the therapy area and competitive landscape

Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships to shape the market for the launch of new products and manage the post launch activities

Lead medical activities required for the introduction of a new product

Communicate and discuss the depth of science underpinning specific products to facilitate uptake and quality use of medicines

Lead and conduct phase 4 studies/Investigator Initiated Studies aligned to local medical strategy

Develop and maintain in•depth expertise for designated products and their competitors, including analysis of current literature, opinion and recommendations

Attend relevant conferences and seminars to maintain currency of knowledge and build relationships with external experts.

Ensure engagement plans are initiated and actively managed for identified external experts, professional associations and other key stakeholders and communications appropriately recorded

Work collaboratively and proactively with designated Brand Team to develop and implement strategic, scientific and relationship management plans that align with business objectives.

Be a key member of the new product introduction team and take the lead on medical activities required to ensure a successful launch

Provide regular medical input to other cross•functional teams as designated by the Centre for Observational Research and Evaluation (CORE)

Provide a high•quality point of contact for scientific interaction between external experts/HCPs and the Company, Disseminate knowledge and share information as appropriate (within compliance guidelines) including one•on•one or group meetings or through internal and external presentations.

Lead and manage Scientific Advisory Board meetings/medical education meetings to ensure knowledge transfer, foster key opinion leader relationships, ensure scientific understanding and build appropriate advocacy.


Actively manage the Scientific and Medical symposia. Assist with the development of Company sponsored programs. Assist with presentations of study data and submission and preparation of publications.


Lead development of local country study proposals with academic rigour and support the investigator•initiated studies.

Participate in the medical data gap analysis with the region to influence and seek additional studies through CORE.


Skills Competencies and Qualifications

Medical Degree

PhD in relevant scientific field preferred

Fluent English and Italian

Extensive experience in Pharmaceutical or biotech industry (medical, clinical, specialist sales or strong academic background).

Ability to apply and leverage scientific and medical knowledge is essential.

Experience in therapy area is desirable.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Sound negotiation, influencing skills.

Demonstrated professional behaviour and customer focus.
